Carbonex has been working diligently to bridge the gap between indigenous communities and the energy sector. Encouraging the involvement of indigenous groups in the activities on their traditional land and surrounding area aids in the creation of positive relationships between these companies and the indigenous community. The primary goal is to achieve involvement in these projects by providing meaningful employment, training, career development and continued education to those members of the aboriginal community who are interested. Carbonex strives to maintain aboriginal staff at all times.
Carbonex Contractors Ltd. has a very in-depth First Nation Engagement policy with the goal being to provide opportunities to indigenous communities through programs such as:

- Transportation for elders to community events
- Road Maintenance
- Cleaning up local parks
- Sponsorship of local events
- Training Programs
